Hey All,
Post from Prague, the final new stop in the trip before we begin our journey back to the US.
We got in late today so did not see much, but where able to walk around a little bit at night and see some of the sites.
Prague is one of this cities that seems to be untouched since the 15th century. It is beautiful! I wish I could take more pictures but my camera died and the charger is gone due to the theft so I have no way of documenting this city. Take my word for it though, it is beautiful.
One of the more interesting things to note is the side walks. They are not cement or asphalt like the states, they are in fact tile. Incredible to see, just walking I feel like I am in a palace. I can't wait for the tour tomorrow.
I think the part of the tour that I am most looking forward to is the palace. It is set on top of the hill on the other side of the city and looks over all of Prague. The best part is that the palace is actually a mini town. Maybe my camera will have some energy in it to take some pictures.
Ok, well, I think I am going to call it quits. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!
Best Regards,
Matt

As I have told people about your trip I keep hearing wonderful things about Prague. If the camera doesn;t work, buy some postcards. MOM
ReplyDeleteMatt,
ReplyDeleteSounds like a beautiful city. Can't believe you have seen so much is such a short period of time.
Here we are getting some more snow tonight so traffic will be a bear tomorrow - oh well, no palaces to see in good ole Baystate!
Dad
Praha is BEAUTIFUL! Im so glad that you and Chris get to see it. Its by far one of the prettiest places in all the world!
ReplyDeleteRemember how I showed you pictures of Prague before you left? Of the tents that are covered in red cloth...set up in the center? Are they there or is it too cold?
If you are interested, Prague is famous for their garnet. Its very cheap there and if you think you might like having one, it may be a nice thing to bring home to remind you of it. Just a thought.
DONT FORGET- When you cross the huge bridge...over the water...there is a statue that is said to bring you good luck if you rub it. There will most certainly be a line of people who are waiting to do just that. There are also a lot of things to see on the bridge. Lots of stands selling pictures...some pre-printed and some hand drawn right there on the bridge!
Also, if you have time head into that bar with the tiger above it. If your walking through the center past the astronomical clock (it will be on your right).. keep walking straight down. You'll see that if you keep walking you'll have to end up taking a left. (At this point there will be a crystal shop to your right..at least when i was there.. it was a Swarovski Crystal store). The bar should now be on your right somewhere around there. Its a little sketchy...old old creepy guys but you and chris will be fine. go in and look for the clinton picture on the wall...its of him sitting down there and having a drink. So cool!
HAVE FUN!!!!
PLZENSKA PINICE
ReplyDelete..U ZLATEHO TYGRA"

haha smooth drop on the garnet, Brandy, but it is my birthstone actually ;)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see pictures of Prague, anyway you guys can get a disposable if your camera is dead?
Can't believe you've been gone so long and seen so much, have a very safe trip home!
